Fifty Plus Thank You's

Last weekend I finished the 50 (plus) thank you cards for Brittney to send out to those who participated in her Mom's Memorial Service.  They came out very nice, if I do say so myself.  A lot of steps, but worth it for Brittney.

Recipe:
Wisteria Wonder - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Watercolor Paper - 5 1/4" x 4"
Whisper White (inside) 5 1/4" x 4"

I stamped the Large Rose from Rose Wonder with a nice juicy Versamark ink pad onto the Watercolor paper and then immediately sprinkled white embossing powder over it, tapped off the excess and sealed it with the Heat Gun.  Always remember to use your Embossing Buddy so you don't have powder sticking where  you don't want it to be.

Then I used my Aqua Brush and ink from inside the lid of each color ink pad to watercolor the flower and the leaves.  No two cards look alike with this technique because the ink will go on differently every time.  Just be fussy with it, no need to worry about them all being the same.

Someone shared this poem with me when I was searching for just the right thing to go inside.  This really covers it all.  I figured out the spacing and typed it up on my computer with four to a page, so it really wasn't too hard.

Thank you for looking in today.  Sorry this is posting so late.  I just didn't have it in me to post this at midnight.

Happy Friday!

Poodle Skirt Blast from the Past

You are simply going to FLIP when you see this card.  I only wish I could take credit for it.  It is SO STINKIN' CUTE!!

The idea comes from Bernadette Baio who shared the card - plus others - with Dawn Olchefske who posted it on facebook.

Check this out!

Recipe:
Whisper White Thick cardstock - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
Mambo Melon - begin with 5 1/2" x 4" (cutting instructions below)

Basic Black - 3/4" x 2 1/8" (to be trimmed as needed)
Basic Black - Cut with Stitched Shapes - smallest square

Using a sharp blade, cut two slits for the strip to weave through.

For the first one I left the belt straight across the way Bernadette did.  I think it defines a more defined waist.  Silly me, on the 2nd one I trimmed the belt to match the skirt and really don't like it.  Trial and Error, right?

The birthday sentiment comes from Butterfly Basics.  The Pearl and Rhinestones are from the old "style" before they were "reconfigured" them this year, which makes it much easier to make the cute leash.

A Special Thank You to Bernadette Baio and to Dawn Olchefske for sharing this fabulous card!  I'm still giddy about how cute it is!

Thank you for looking in today!  Happy Thursday!

Paper Pumpkin Has Arrived!

My July Paper Pumpkin arrived Tuesday!  I don't usually get mine this early so I was really excited to see it in my mailbox when I got home.

Here are a few of the cards for this month's kit.  Very fun and easy to put together.

Everything you need comes in each kit - except for the clear block, but you receive one of those in your first order.

If you've never tried the monthly kit of Paper Pumpkin, you really should look into it.  Give it a try and see how much fun it is to receive a surprise kit in the mail each month.

Check out the details here

Thank you for looking in today!  This girl is going to get to bed earlier (it's Tuesday night as I type this). Midnight is simply too late when the alarm goes off at 5 a.m.!

Pet Sympathy

Remember my "work daughter" Brittney who recently found out her Mom passed away?  Well, the day she found out about that, she was actually going to have to put her sweet dog Maggie down after years of fighting allergies and health issues.  With her Mom passing, she just couldn't manage it, but when she returned home, her dog had become even worse and they had to take her in.

Recipe:
Crumb Cake - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Chocolate Chip - 5 1/4" x 4"
Crumb Cake - 5 1/8" x 3 7/8" (although now I wish I'd done it at 5" x 3 3/4" to show better) embossed with Polka Dot Basics

Paw:
Sweetheart Punch (retired, now that I look - but could use hearts from Sweet & Sassy Framelits)
1/2" circle punch

Thank you for looking in today.
