My May Swap Card

Here is my swap card from our Monthly Team Meeting.  This was fast and easy using my Stamparatus!  Starting Friday, June 1st you can order one too.  Believe me you will love it!

For the swap, I only made a card front, so when writing up the "recipe" below, I realized that making it as a full card, the dry embossed flower would have to be placed on the right side - either upper or lower.  The reason for this is because you don't want to run the cardstock all the way through, just enough on the corner to look nice.

Recipe -
Grapefruit Grove - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Old Olive - 4 1/8" x 3"
Very Vanilla - 4" x 2 7/8"

Here is how you would place the open side of your cardstock to emboss only the corner.  You could also make a single panel and layer it up.  Make the panel - 5 1/4" x 4", then pop it up onto the base card.

When coloring your flowers use the large circular stamp, ink it with Grapefruit Grove and stamp off once, then onto the flower.  Do the same with the smaller stamp and it will add just enough color to look great!

Thank you for looking in today.  Remember, today is the last day to purchase from the old catalog!

Remarkable You, Round Two

Just like Lay's Potato Chips, I couldn't make just one, so here is card number two with different colors.  However, this still uses the same Designer Series Paper stack - Tranquil Textures.

Recipe:
Pool Party - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Basic Black - 4 3/4" x 3 1/2"
Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper - 4 5/8" x 3 3/8"
Basic Black - 3 7/8" x 2 5/8"
Whisper White - 3 3/4" x 2 1/2"
Whisper White Scraps for stamping the flower.

Stamps - Remarkable You
Inks -
Memento Black
Smoky Slate (stamped off once for inside)
Pool Party Stampin' Blends for coloring the flower.

Remember to give your envelope some love.  The DSP seen here is actually the backside of the Fresh Fig you see matted on the front of the card.

Thank your for looking in.  Team Meeting tonight, so if I miss posting for tomorrow, you'll know why.

Old Meets New in Remarkable You

With the end of the 2017-2018 catalog so very near, I figured it was time to give some love to some of my favorite retiring sets.

Remarkable You (retiring) is one of those favorites.  The big bold flowers that color so nicely with the Stampin' Blends and being large, they are easy to fussy cut if you want.  Which is exactly what I did with this card.

The new part here is the Designer Series Paper - Tranquil Textures and the laser cut tag that comes in the Early Release bundles.

Recipe:
Fresh Fig - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Basic Black - 4 3/4" x 3 1/2"
Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper - 4 5/8" x 3 3/8"
Basic Black - 3 7/8" x 2 5/8"
Whisper White - 3 3/4" x 2 1/2"
Whisper White Scraps for stamping the flower.

Stamps - Remarkable You
Inks -
Blackberry Bliss (Fresh Fig would work of course, but Blackberry Bliss was right in front of me!)
Memento Black
Smoky Slate (stamped off once for inside)

Remember to give your envelope some love.  The DSP seen here is actually the backside of the Fresh Fig you see matted on the front of the card.

Happy Memorial Day - remember to thank a Vet for his service and sacrifice.

Thank you for looking in today!

Varied Vases Sneak Peek

This Varied Vases Bundle is going to be a big hit. It already is for me.  I'm probably a little partial to it though because I've met the creator of this set, Mary Fish and she's just so sweet and talented.  I'm proud to say she's from the great state of Arizona!

Recipe:
Grapefruit Grove - 11" x 4 1/4", scored and folded at 5 1/2"
2018-2020 In Color 6" x 6" DSP cut to 5 1/2" x 2 1/2"
Whisper White - 4 3/4" x 3"
Whisper White - scraps for stamping vases
Whisper White - 5 1/4" x 4" (inside)

To make stamping and punching a breeze, punch a template into a scrap piece of cardstock.  Lay the vases onto the punched areas with the stamp side down.  Once you have them placed just right, lay a clear block over the stamps and you're ready to stamp and punch.

Ink up your stamps with whatever color you wish - I used Memento Black and stamp away.  Then all you have to do is punch the trio.  Before punching, if you wish to have some "water" in your vase, here is the best way to do that.

Lay your stamp onto your shade of blue - this is Pool Party - and then carefully line it up with your pre-stamped vases.

Then you are ready to punch.

Thank you for looking in today!  Mark your calendars for June 1st so that you can order this Bundle and start making fun cards!

Have a blessed Sunday.  We'll be watching the Indy 500 here.  I love all the opening ceremony stuff.

Paper Pumkin Stealing the Show

The Paper Pumpkin team has thought long and hard about how we might create a bridge for Paper Pumpkin customers to the additional products that Stampin’ Up! has to offer, and we’re happy to announce a solution that we think you’re going to love: a kit that coordinates with a product suite in the 2018–2019 annual catalog.

Because perfectly coordinated products have always been one of Stampin’ Up!’s key strengths — Stampin' Up! designed June’s Paper Pumpkin kit as a stepping stone to the spectacular suite in the 2018–2019 annual catalog.
Our uniquely designed June kit and coordinating suite give you the ability to expand your experience from crafting with a single kit to creating with a full range of products offered by Stampin’ Up!
Personally, I like the Paper Pumpkin kits, but once the month is over, I must move on to something current.  This new bridge between Paper Pumpkin and a Suite in the annual catalog will allow us to enjoy each month more fully.
Stay tuned for the Suite that will coordinate with the June Paper Pumpkin.
If you are already a Paper Pumpkin subscriber and customer of mine, THANK YOU!  You are already set to receive your June shipment and will be able to check out and purchase the suite beginning June 1st.
If you are not a subscriber yet to Paper Pumpkin, then be sure to sign up by June 10th in order to receive the June Kit.  Sign up HERE.
Thank you for looking in today!
Don't forget the special birthday offer when you shop with me online this month!  Check out Tuesday's Blog Post for Details.

Thanks a Bunch

First thanks goes to Shawn from Shawn Stamps.  I spotted his card and fell instantly in love with it.  He does a couple more things on his that I just couldn't get to cooperate, so mine will be a little different.  Perhaps trying when it isn't late at night I'll have better luck!

The reason for the card is to thank a dear friend for a really great birthday surprise that arrived in the mail today!  She doesn't look at my blog (as far as I can tell) so this won't be a spoiler for her!

My Recipe:

  • Mint Macaron - 11" x 4 1/4", scored and folded at 5 1/2"
  • Whisper White - 4 7/8" x 3 5/8"
  • Mint Macaron - 4 3/4" x 3 1/2"
  • Whisper White (inside) - 5" x 3 3/4" (normally it would be 5 1/4" x 4" - but this was a scrap I had and it worked nicely)
  • Whisper White scrap - stamped and cut with Stitched Shapes Framelits Die - attach to a Pearlized Doily and pop up with Stampin' Dimensionals
  • Whisper White scrap - to stamp the top flower again, fussy cut and attached so it is off the circle a bit
  • Pearlized Doily

To stamp the flowers, ink them up with your Stampin' Write Markers.  Tranquil Tide for the stems and Blackberry Bliss for the flowers.  Remember to "huff" onto them before stamping for best results.  IF they don't stamp well (like mine didn't) use the writing tip of your pen to darken the lines.  It worked perfectly.

Color your flowers using a Blender Pen after scribbling some ink onto an acrylic block from your Stampin' Write Marker.  Use the blender pen to pick up some color.  Make upward strokes from the base of the flower into the center.  As the Blender Pen runs out of ink, you can keep using it to add a softer color.

Thank you for looking in today! It's Hump Day!  I still miss this commercial... (if you are reading this in an email, you may need to go to the blog to see the video).

Birthday Week - Happy Week

This week at the office is Birthday Week... at least for some people.  Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday are all days that someone at the office is having a birthday.  This card is for Monday's Birthday - Joey.  Monday is his flex day, so he wasn't in, so we'll celebrate today.  I'm stopping for donuts on the way in.  One of yesterday's cards was for our Sunday Birthday - Nora.

The happiest birthday though is on Friday... it's MINE.  I love having a birthday around Memorial Day - it works nicely into a four day weekend.  This girl is taking off Friday and Monday is the holiday, so fun, fun, fun!

Want to celebrate with me?  Place an online order of $50.00 or more (before shipping and tax) anytime between now and May 31st using hostess code - UNM61HPV and I'll send you a present!

Today's card recipe:
Night of Navy - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Smoky Slate - 5 1/4" x 4
True Gentleman DSP - 5" x 3 3/4"
Night of Navy - 4" x 3 1/2"
True Gentleman DSP - 3 3/4" x 3 1/4"
Garden Green scrap - Happy Birthday Die

Inside - Very Vanilla - 5 1/4" x 4"
Stamps - Five For All (retiring May 31st - don't miss it!)
Ink - Night of Navy

This is a fun stamp set full of fun sentiments for those special birthdays.  This is a perfect one for today!

Thank you for looking in.

Garden Impressions With Sliding Door

I couldn't resist making more of these layered cards.  Look how many pretty combinations in just these three cards.  The Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper is full of so many color choices that you can come up with multiple combinations for each sheet.

Stamps Used:
Five For All (retiring- grab it soon for those fun sentiments)
Detailed With Love (available June 1, 2018)
Ink:  Night of Navy and Pacific Point

This first card uses a base of Melon Mambo.  I popped up the small layer with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Which was good because I forgot to wrap the ribbon around it.  I was able to slip the ribbon under and around to tie into a bow.

Add a strip of scrap DSP inside.  5 1/4" x 1"

 Crushed Curry Base:

Garden Green Base:

Thank you for stopping in today.  It's Monday!  Ugh, but has to be better than last Thursday and Friday!
